After months of cold weather, it’s easy to start feeling a little cooped up. If you’re looking for some fun things to do for winter dates besides going out to dinner or watching a movie, then this is the perfect list for you.
- Sleigh Rides
A good old fashion sleigh ride is a romantic way to get out of the house and spend a little time cuddling with your significant other. If you’re not sure where you could take a ride at, just search online. If there is snow near you, then someone will likely be offering sleigh rides. If you live in an area that doesn’t get much snow, head downtown and take a carriage ride.

If you don’t feel like leaving the house, but you desperately need a change of scenery, then resort back to your childhood days and build a blanket fort. If you’d like you could roast hot dogs and marshmallows over the stove and then snuggle up for a good movie in your fort.

If the weather outside is frightful there is a good chance someone has made an ice sculpture of some sort. It might be a giant ice moose or even an entire castle.

For a low key, do-something-cozy activity you could make homemade cookies together. Then top your fresh cookies with ice-cream and a side of hot chocolate. If you wanna be super fancy you could even try making your very own gourmet hot cocoa.
- Visit A Museum
Want to stay warm, but get out of the house at the same time? Visit your local museum. You can spend as much time as you want to explore hand-in-hand with the person you love. An aquarium would also be an awesome option for staying warm and getting out of the house.
- Go To A Paint Night
Lots of towns have paint night opportunities. Schedule a paint night and create your own kind of masterpiece together. Don’t feel like you have to be Da Vinci. This should be a low-stress, fun activity that can get you out of the house for a few hours.
- Hot Spring Or Hot Tub
There is something very soothing about going out on a cold night and relaxing in a hot tub or natural hot spring. This could be a romantic evening for you and your spouse or a group date where everyone relaxes and chats.
- Take A Walk
You’re probably thinking, “Why would I want to take a walk in the bitter cold?” Bundle up nice and warm and grab a thermos filled with your favorite hot drink. Now you can keep your belly warm while enjoying the cool brisk air.
- Volunteer Together
If you’re really needing to get out and do something then consider volunteering. There are many organizations that need volunteers, from food banks to dog shelters. Just take a minute to look up what’s available in your area and then give them a call.

Here is a blast from the past. Gather up a few quarters and go enjoy the local arcade. You don’t have to be good to have a great time. Just remember that you’re there to have a great time and enjoy time together.
